Practice Mantra Meditation with Chrissy
JOURNAL PROMPT: The 6th Limb: Dharana = one-pointed-focus, or concentration. Try Lakhita Japa (or written repetition) of any mantra you like. Write for expample “om tat sat. om tat sat. om tat sat.” over and over for at least 5 mins. *DON”T TYPE, hand write on paper ONLY. Writing is another technique for the practice and repetition of mantra, as well as Dharana!

Practice the Ashtanga Standing Sequence WITH modifications led by Mindy Pistacchio. Ask questions, share favorites and try new variations. 1 hr, YTT1.

CREATE: a visual representation of your own being, feel free to include important places and philosophies or values (like the 8 limb tree on p 52) as well people like the lineage chart (p 50) and/or any other strong influences on your sense of self… Upload a photo of this to Google media album! 1.5 hrs, YTT4.

READ: Curves of the Spine and consider how to apply what you learned to your own practice… As a student? As a teacher? What can we learn from ancient human history (physically, mentallly, etc)?
WATCH: Anatomy of the Neck, Diaphragm and Accessory Breathing Muscles and Respiratory System with Mindy. PRACTICE TEACH: GUIDE a beginner yogi through an intro to yogic breathing. What did you notice in your ability to breathe fully as a beginner? How did/does it feel to learn this? Record your teaching and share to the media album for additional feedback. 2.5 hrs, YTT2.
