SECTION 1

  1. PRACTICE: Mantra Meditation with Chrissy 1 hr, YTT1. Homework: Practice 5 or more minutes of written mantra practice. UPLOAD photos of written mantra to our media album.

  2. PRACTICE: Ashtanga Yoga for Beginners with Chrissy: 1.5 hr, YTT1.

  3. Types of Classes with Chrissy. CHOOSE ONE TYPE OF CLASS AND PLAN IT ALL OUT, email Chrissy your lesson plan and questions. 1 hr, YTT4.

  4. Biomechanics with Sara. Homework: How might you offer modifications and promote an environment that is welcoming and safe for all bodies? Write a few affirmations that feel authentic to your voice and your truth to encourage individualized practice, inviting variation. In other words, what are some actions and statements you can incorporate in teaching to empower acceptance of our unique bodies? PROVIDE THIS FEEDBACK IN THE VIDEO COMMENTS and read/reply to any others already posted. EMAIL questions directly to Sara: saralamiept@gmail.com. 2.5 hrs, YTT2.

SECTION 2

  1. PRACTICE: Mellow Vinyasa with Chrissy 1 hr, YTT1.

  2. KARMA YOGA: Selfless service is an important part of the yoga philosophy. To offer without expectation of return is a large part of the work we do to set a healthy mindset and clear intention about who we are (APARIGRAHA - nonattachment and ISVARA PRANIDANA - surrender). Perhaps you volunteer already, or have been thinking about doing it for a long time. Do it! Journal and reflect, send Chrissy an email about the experience. 1 hour minimum, UP TO 3 HOURS of credit in YTT3 during your course of study.

  3. Pranayama (KUMBHAKA) with Bibby. Leave questions and/or comments below the video. How did the practice make you feel? Did you find one (in or exhale retention) more natural? Was the mind able to settle it was it jumping? Look over the Stages of Pranayama on p. 11 in the YTT manual for terms... 1 hr, YTT1.

  4. READ this excerpt: from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. CONTEMPLATE the 6 ways yoga “perishes” and 6 ways it “succeeds” according to this text. Is there anything here you find relevant from this older text to your own modern day practice?? How about as a teacher?? JOURNAL. 1 hour, YTT4.

SECTION 3

  1. Pranayama requirements as a Guide for Practice + Teaching with Chrissy. HOMEWORK: Email to chrissylefavour@gmail.com .... Respond to each of the 4 requirements (p 11, YTT manual) with an idea or inspiration for your own teaching to others. How can these "requirements" set the stage for the ways in which we prepare for a pranayama practice? Why are these requirements important (or not important)? 1 hr, YTT4.

  2. Intro to Yin Practice with Christina. Homework: How does a yin practice feel in your body/mind/energy? Journal about what you noticed during practice. See if you can identify areas that seem to feel really open and others that may have needed more help releasing (this could be physically or mentally).  Spend some time working with those postures this next week and journal again and see what’s changed. 1 hr, YTT1

  3. READ: A brief overview of YIN and WRITE: in your own words a description of YIN and YANG… OR DRAW a visual representation of the two energies. YTT4, .5 hours.

  4. WRITE - Teaching styles: now that you have had quite a bit of exposure to different teachers and teaching styles, note things you enjoy and things you would omit as a teacher. How do we appeal to different types of learners (visual, kinesthetic, auditory)? What is your teaching style?! YTT4, .5 hours.

  5. Chakras + Koshas with Christina. Reference Chakras for Yogis sheet and the Koshas for Yogis sheet to use for notes, etc. HOMEWORK: Use the sheets to see the subtle bodies we’ve discussed so far, make notes, etc. and email Stinaquestions/comments: stinar.morris@gmail.com 1 hr, YTT2.

    • Then, think about the asanas we discussed in class and see if you can come up with an asana of your own for each chakra? Why did you chose the ones you did? UPLOAD a screenshot or photo to our MEDIA album. Have fun with this! 1 hour, YTT5.

SECTION 4

  1. WATCH and PRACTICE the short BREATHING class for kids above with Stef. For full Llama Llama Class click here. .5 hrs, YTT1

    • REVIEW THIS Intro To Kids Yoga: Questions/comments about all things kids yoga: EMAIL stefsmith33@gmail.com. .5 hrs, YTT4.

  2. WATCH: Social Media Navigation: the spaces where yoga teachers and social media collide with Chrissy. Explore how to create healthy and abundant relationship with social media platforms. 1 hr, YTT4.

  3. PRACTICE: *Pranayama Meditation with Chrissy. Homework: 10 mins of self guided Nadi Shodana + a written reflection emailed to Chrissy! Prompts and questions in the video description. 1 hr, YTT1.

  4. TEACH a style of pranayama. First come up with a plan. How many reps, what kind, for how long, intro, closing, etc… PRACTICE this class with someone you know as your student online or in-person. ASK them for critical feedback. YTT5, 1 hr.

  5. READ this story of the GAYATRI mantra. We see Sanskrit in stories, posture names, mantras, philosophy, etc. How can we learn by listening to stories? How can we share our own? WHY is this valuable to community + responsibility? JOURNAL. 1 hr, YTT3.
