Biomechanics with Sara. 90 mins, YTT2. Video 4: Anatomy and Mechanics of the Abdominals and Pelvic Floor
**Warning: the anatomy of the pelvic floor muscles will be discussed in detail. There will be plenty of warning and lead-in, in order for those who wish to skip that section due to trauma, triggering, or discomfort, to pause and fast forward. Homework, 1 hr YTT4: CREATE and practice your own flow or vinyasa of ~5 asana with focus on engaging bandhas and utilizing/cuing core. Be mindful that the degree of engagement/activation is proportional to the workload. (For example, a supine twist requires much less core engagement than Chatturanga dandasana, and maintaining an asana may require less core engagement than transitioning into/out of that posture)… SUBMIT video of sequence or notes to the media album here.
PRACTICE: Chakra Nidra Meditation with Chrissy. 32 mins, YTT1. REVIEW + WRITE SCRIPT ON PRATYAHARA: turning the senses inward… How can you explain how the practice of pratyahara works? Why are we turning inward? What verbal cues are helpful? Write a script of your guided meditation that you could read out loud or give to a future students as instructions…. EMAIL to Chrissy. 1 hr YTT4.

SECTION 2
Ashtanga Closing Sequence with Mindy *with modifications* (including backbend!!). 1 hr, YTT1.
RISE + VIBE ASSIGNMENT: silent practice… unguided with no music, no video cues, no notes or books, just you + your yoga mat + your bretah. PRACTICE asana, mantra, pranayama, whatever you like, all by yourself for at least 30 minutes. WRITE a reflection and email it to chrissylefavour@gmail.com to receive credit.
TRY AGAIN with BLINDFOLD. For another 30 minutes. These are ways in which we TURN our senses INWARD.
Will happily credit up to 2 hrs in YTT5 here. Give yourself time over the next few weeks to complete these practices!

SECTION 3
PRANA : Breath of Life with Christina. 45 mins, YTT3. Sanskrit break down and Energy/Meditation experiment. Homework, .5 hr, YTT3: think about what we talked about/practiced in class and incorporate into your practice this week somehow. Play around with when is the most optimal time for you to practice pranayama, when you might see/feel a difference by incorporating other ways to direct the flow of prana (refer to what was discussed in class), notice how diet, exercise, social interactions, etc affect your inquiries as well. This is for your own personal observation to help you deepen your practice through feeling/doing this. Journal on your findings.
GRADUATIONS… 1hr, YTT4. You should be considering a topic or topic(s) for your YTT graduation at this point. Please visit our online GRADUATIONS collection from the past here: consider this market research. What grabs your attention? How are teaching styles portrayed?

SECTION 4
CREATE a workshop: first watch and participate in this class with Chrissy: (2 hour credit. YTT1) Provide feedback about what you can pick-up about my personal philosphy, how do I teach the workshop? What values are presented? Are there any pieces of cultural or societal awareness?
While creating your workshop first choose a topic that interests you (full moon, social justice, ancient texts, a certain style of yoga, nature, science., etc etc) conduct reserach and formulate a class plan that aligns. Plan this workshop to be a MINIMUM of 2 hours and then submit your lesson plan to Chrissy via email. Up to 2 more hours credit, YTT4!
PLUS: 1 hour YTT5… TEACH the workshop! Film yourself teaching this online or in a room with real people. Upload you video to YouTube and share the link with Chrissy OR upload to our YTT media folder.
