Sections 1-4


SECTION 1

  1. Ganesha Step Mantra with Chrissy. Dharana, Dhyana + Samadhi; meditation for mental obstacles. Mostly practice but also a little discussion on why + how we meditate. 45 mins, YTT1.

  2. Ashtanga 1 hour (short form) with Chrissy. 1 hr, YTT1.

  3. Biomechanics with Sara. Selected Asana Variations: Cues and modifications.... 2.5 hrs, YTT2. Homework: Create and teach (to the pets or plants is fine!) a vinyasa while incorporating various alignment/engagement cues to support a specific intention for your class. Record and watch it for visual and auditory feedback. Journal on your experience, and feel free to zoom out and journal (and share!) about what you have taken away from this biomechanics series.   4. Chakra Meditation Series with Chrissy: starting with the Root Chakra (MULADHARA) 45 mins, YTT1.

SECTION 2

  1. Eye Mantras + Trataka Meditation with Chrissy. Homework: self-practice Trataka meditation for at least 5 minutes! AND leave a comment or question below. 45 mins, YTT1.

  2. Mellow Vinyasa with Chrissy. 1 hr, YTT1.

  3. Chakra Meditation Series with Chrissy, Sacral Chakra, Svadisthana. PLUS: 10 min journaling post meditation. Reflection + Svadyaya. 45 mins, YTT1.

  4. Intro to Kemetic Yoga: READ this page and check out the PHILOSOPHY and What is Kemetic Yoga? pages as well… RESEARCH other ancient and indigenous peoples; are there practices that align with the ‘yoga’ philosophy from parts of the world other than Egypt and India? EMAIL Chrissy a response. 1 hour, YTT3.

  5. CONTINUED from #4… 1 hour, YTT4. Consider ways you can honor the roots of yoga. One important practice as teachers is to incorporate elements beyond asana. What are other teachers, studios and programs offering? Who is visible? CREATE a written definition of MEDITATION, including your own experience and knowledge of the pracitce. Include an action plan about how you will incorporate these elements into your classes. EMAIL to Chrissy

SECTION 3

  1. Protection Mantra with Chrissy. 30 mins, YTT1.

  2. READ The intro section to Buddha’s Brain: written by medical doctors who also practice meditation. Consider this interesting cross section of knowledge we bring to our practice, the experience of un-learning that sometimes occurs and JOURNAL. 1 hour, YTT3.

  3. ALL LEVELS - Ashtanga with Chrissy. 90 minutes, YTT1.

  4. Consider teaching an ALL LEVELS class. What are elements that are valid to the practice at every level? Create an ALL LEVELS class plan AND practice teach it, to real people or to yourself. Include a breif amrketing strategy and pay special attention to inclusive language. Share your lesson plan with Chrissy via Email. 1.5 hours, YTT4.

SECTION 4

  1. Chakra Meditation with Chrissy: Solar Plexus, Manipura. 30 mins, YTT1.

  2. Chakra Meditation with Chrissy: Heart Center, Anahata. 30 mins, YTT1.

  3. Chakra Meditation with Chrissy: Throat/Neck, Vishudda. 30 mins, YTT1.

  4. Chakra Meditation with Chrissy: 3rd Eye, Ajna. 30 mins, YTT1.

  5. Chakra Meditation with Chrissy: Crown of Head, Sahasrara. 30 mins, YTT1.

  6. INDEPENDENT STUDY // GRADUATION. 1.5 hrs, YTT5 and 2 hrs, YTT4. 3.5 hrs total. Develop and present your graduation. Consider lesson planning elements, EMAIL Chrissy a rough draft and any questions. Spend this time between now and the end of Module 10 to enjoy this part of your study. You’re doing GREAT!
